Karen is an artist and illustrator living in Ventnor on Phillip Island. She has had a diverse career path which has ultimately lead her back to her first love, art. After the birth of her third child several years ago, Karen decided it was time to get back to her creative side and focus on supporting her family using her artistic talents.

When Karen was inspired to draw strangely patterned animals, she had no idea it would lead to her first children's book An A-Z Of Creatures. It took three years of hard work and was partner-published by Little Steps Publishing in September 2016. Since that time it has sold over 1800 copies and is in bookcases around the globe.

Being a creative artist these days requires entrepreneurship. Having The Hungry Caterpillar as a business model, Karen has endeavoured to create a brand. Karen's hand-illustrated book is the centre of all she creates - from Alphabet Flash Cards to Greeting Cards. Karen spends part of her time traveling the roads of Victoria, to share her work at some of the most renowned and respected handmade markets; as well as visiting various schools to enthral and inspire students to take an interest in art and in the creatures around them.

2017 saw Karen, embark on writing her second book. The book will follow the theme of an Alphabet book with intricately patterned illustrations and is a menagerie of Mythological Creatures. Karen will speak about her self publishing journey.
