*** Please note this is story telling event. Briggs will be telling the story behind his music, not performing.
Adam, who performs under the name “Briggs”, is a Yorta Yorta man who grew up in Shepparton in central Victoria, where he formed his first band with a school mate. After he became interested in hip-hop he moved to Melbourne where, after a struggle, he was recognised as a real talent and signed up by a record company.
FRIDAY 27th July 7:15 PM
Briggs has become a powerhouse rapper who has created records that have made him a pioneer of the new wave of Australian hip-hop. He is Founder/CEO of Bad Apples Music. His outspoken critiques of Australian culture have given a strong voice to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders nationally.
A multidisciplinary artist, Briggs has starred on TV in Cleverman, Charlie Pickering's The Weekly, Get Krackin, and Black Comedy, which he also wrote for. He has released critically acclaimed albums both as a solo artist and as one half of the award winning duo, A.B. Original. He is also writing for Matt Groening's new Netflix series Disenchantment, whilst juggling the production of a feature length, semi-autobiographical documentary and new series.
Briggs will open the Festival by sharing the story of his remarkable life and the stories behind his music. (i.e. He will be talking, not performing, but expect some explicit language)
